Sausage Balls - The Way to a Man's Heart

They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach and I'm pretty sure I could prove that saying true with this recipe if I hadn't already won my husband's heart over! Over the year's I've made a number of appetizers and finger foods that my husband requests me to make again, but there have been NONE that have been requested even near as much as these Sausage Balls!!
This recipe is SUPER easy and one that you'll want to have on hand for year's to come! WARNING: Once you make this recipe, be prepared for additional requests at the drop of a hat!!

I Love Love Love Mason Jars!!

To say I love mason jars is such an understatement. They are functional along with beautiful.
So anyway, we have been needing a new light in our laundry room out at the farm and nothing we found was 'the one' or near our price range. Then one night it just hit me... Mason Jar Lights!!!, and after asking my husband, he was confident he could do it. So for the quick disclaimer.... I am not an electrician and neither is my husband. We just worked carefully to the best of our knowledge and has not yet burned our house down... OK that's it.

Monster COOKIES!

One of my children's favorite activities to do is help bake cookies, especially Monster Cookies! We've got a little tradition where we work together to make the Monster Cookies, then when they're done we get a Cookie Monster book out and read it together while we have an ice cold cup of milk, along with these great cookies! Here's the recipe:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 12-ounce jar creamy peanut butter
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup M&M's
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 4 1/2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal (not instant)

In a large mixing bowl, combine the eggs sugar, and brown sugar. Next, stir in the salt, vanilla, peanut butter, and butter. Finish by stirring in the M&M's, chocolate chips, baking soda, and oatmeal. Drop by tablespoons 2 inches apart onto cookie sheets.

Bake at 350 F for 8 to 10 minutes.  Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes.

The Handy Dandy Magnet/Chalkboard

I'm always finding my kitchen with piles of papers and random items that I need to work on, but just haven't gotten around to yet. Just looking at the piles tends to give me an immediate overwhelming feeling as I walk into the kitchen and I'd decided that I'd had enough of the overwhelmingness.

Although it's not quite spring yet, spring cleaning has begun around my household, which made me stumble upon a pile of old baking sheets that I no longer use. Crafts are a pretty normal occurrence around the house, so I knew that I should be able to come up with something to do with the baking sheet with the items we already had around.
